More About Activity...
Your choice of physical activity is a very
personal choice that should center on activity that appeals to you. Historically, we
have found that once you start losing weight and feeling better, then the urge to move
comes natural. The activity section of your new patient manual will help inform you
on some basic stretches and general information. Included is an exercise log that
would hang nicely on your refrigerator or bathroom mirror. Also discussed is body
composition/body fat testing, using bio-impedance analysis. It is critical that we
monitor your ratio of fat to muscle as you lose weight to assure you lose fat, and
maintain or gain muscle. Specific guidance on exercise and toning will be given as
you progress.
Also included in your new patient manual are
several articles regarding exercise, designed to assist you in increasing your activity
levels as your program progresses. These articles and instructional guides will help
you choose activities that not only fit your interests & lifestyles, but also your
weight loss goals.
You are encouraged, throughout your weight
control program, to track and record your daily activity and the amount of time you
participated in those activities. Just like your nutritional journal, your exercise
log gives Dr. Wells the ability to most effectively plan your treatment course. Back
